5 out of the 6 utensils are made without glues or lacquers of any kind (100% organic bamboo). The tongs are made of two pieces and according to the manufacturer, a non-toxic, food-safe, water-based glue is used for adhesion.
Designed for prepping, cooking and serving
Paper-based and natural fiber string
Dishwasher not recommended – hand wash for longer life and avoid prolonged soaking. Use Bamboo and Wood Grain Finishing Oil to keep utensils beautiful for years to come.
Similar to what happens in a natural environment, bamboo will completely decompose but the amount of time this takes is dependent on things like soil composition, temperature, and the size and density of the object, amongst others. Time frames can range from a few months to a few years. Breaking it down into smaller pieces can accelerate the process of decomposition and this is recommended before introducing it into an environment that’s suitable for composting.
For the tongs that contain a non-toxic, food-safe, water-based glue, we can’t say with any degree of certainty. For intellectual property related reasons, the manufacturer would not provide us with the name of this compound. Please contact them for more information.
Each utensil is approximately 12” in length
